The Best of Friends by Lucinda Berry
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Excellent! 5 stars
I couldn’t put this down.
We start the book with gunshots. Three boys were involved, all sons of 3 women who have been best friends for decades. One boy is dead, another is barely alive on life support in a vegetative state, and the third one hasn’t spoken a verbal word since the incident, retreated into himself. What happened? What will happen? What will the fallout be for these three families?
This book touched on some deep but relevant issues. Infidelity, spousal abuse, realizing your children have lives you know nothing about. Very well done. Highly recommend.
